So, here is my new bag collection thus far!
All made using 100% recycled fabrics, and all featuring a little row of Suffolk Puffs which I have unpicked from a 1930's bedcover.

The majority of the fabric is old French linen sheets dyed different colours, and also original mattress ticking and mangle cloth. Some of the bags have long straps to be worn across the body......
and others have short straps to be held in the hand.

The floral piece used in the bag below came from a very exciting find; the fabric length has 'Morris & Co' on the selvedge; so although not actually one of William Morris's own designs it was printed by his company and could therefore be well over 120 years old! I love the colouring of it; I wonder how much the blue and the grey-green of the leaves has faded over the years.....
All these and more will be on my stand at The Bedruthan Mid-century and Vintage Fair on the 11th and 12th March (see side bar). Hope some of you can make it; there will be retro furniture, lighting, vintage clothing and accessories, home collectables, glassware and textiles. Something for everyone!
